Earth Day 2008

KLB continued its important partnership with Whole Foods on Earth Day 2008.  KLB Advisory Board Member Roy Dupuy (representing DOTD) and Alex Sheffield (representing LA Water Resources Association) joined KLB Executive Director Leigh Harris in sharing information about KLB with Whole Foods' guests. Whole Foods kicked off Earth Day 2008 by eliminating plastic bags from all its stores.

November 12, 2007

Keep Abbeville Beautiful's Tree Preservation Committee partnered with the Vermilion Historical Society to host a special Veteran's Day dedication ceremony. The Committee presented 11 plaques and Live Oak Trees on Donald Frederick Boulevard in honor of WWII veterans who were killed in action.  The trees are now listed with the Live Oak Society in the name of the honored soldiers.

 

November 2007

KLB Executive Director Leigh Harris recently attended the annual Keep America Beautiful State Leaders Council Meeting in Philadelphia. Events included a breakfast with Ben Franklin and national affiliate seminars. The annual event was hosted by Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful.
